Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan is coming to Amazon Prime Video for a 10, one-hour episode season.  Produced by Paramount and Skydance Television, this series stars John Krasinski (13 Hours, The Office) (pictured) in the titular role. He follows in the famous footsteps of Jack Ryans’ past including Alec Baldwin, Ben Affleck, Chris Pine and (most notably) Harrison Ford, all of whom played the role for feature films.

The latest Jack Ryan iteration, which is projected to shoot in the U.S., Europe and Africa, is a reinvention of the character. It follows Ryan, an up-and-coming CIA analyst who’s thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time that sees him uncover a pattern in terrorist communication. That pattern launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.

“Our customers will enjoy a compelling adaptation of the action-packed spy thriller book series, further raising the bar for the quality level of storytelling that has made Prime Video a leading destination for content,” said Roy Price, Head of Amazon Studios in a statement.

The pilot was written by Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Graham Roland (Almost Human), based on a story they developed. Both are on board as executive producers along side Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form (Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross, as well as Mace Neufeld (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) and Lindsey Springer.
