Zoomin goes underwater in 4K

The multi-channel network and media co. has partnered with Scubazoo to bring its high-def, underwater content to new platforms.

Zoomin.TV’s in-house studio, Zoom Studios, is about to embark on a journey under the sea.

The European MCN and media co. has paired with Scubazoo, a Malaysia-based prodco specializing in producing underwater content in 4K. Zoomin will work with Scubazoo’s archived footage to develop it into new series, documentaries and formats, and then distribute and monetize the content across multiple digital and linear platforms.

Planned formats for the footage include a yet-to-be titled kid’s series, and a factual series tentatively titled Shark Shooters.

The programs were recently brought to market at the annual MIPTV conference and marketplace in Cannes.

Last year, Zoomin (which was described by company CEO Jan Riemens as “Vice with a heart”) was acquired by Sweden-based Modern Times Group (MTG) and has since unveiled major growth plans, announcing two upcoming feature films and outlining its goals to expand its digital content across borders, particularly into the U.S.
