Former Major League Gaming (MLG) exec Don Reilley has joined the MCN Machinima as head of national brand partnerships.
The digital media co announced Nov. 20 that Reilley (pictured, left) would join the team to oversee the activities, transactions and staff for Machinima’s domestic sales operations. Reilley will also be responsible for building out and managing Machinima’s ad sales team, and connecting with marketers looking to create branded content.
Prior to joining Machinima, Reilley spent two years as EVP, global ad sales and operations for MLG, where he forged partnerships with Microsoft to create apps for its Xbox line of consoles. Other past roles include head of U.S. ad sales for Kindle at Amazon and director of U.S. ad sales for Xbox at Microsoft. He has also worked as a sales manager for gaming companies such as Electronic Arts and GameSpy.
Reilley will report to Machinima CRO Jamie Weissenborn (pictured, right). Weissenborn said at the announcement that Reilley’s background in the gaming industry made him an ideal fit for Machinima, which is known for its gaming-related series such as Battlefield Friends and Mortal Kombat: Legacy.
Some of Machinima’s past branded content partners include toy giant Hasbro and auto-maker Honda. Its channels currently generate 3.1 billion monthly views, have 407 million subscribers and 16.8 billion minutes of video viewed across all platforms.
