AOL-owned news site The Huffington Post has ordered the social media-focused docuseries #PowerShift, hosted by Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner (pictured).

Made in partnership with GroupM Entertainment and produced with U.K. indie Broad Bean Media, the original 10-part series will investigate how youth from across the globe are utilizing the power of social media to incite positive change.

Stories will cover such topics as influencing public opinion, campaigning for social justice, political revolutions and the birth of Internet celebrities.

#PowerShift is part of The Huffington Post‘s “What’s Working” initiative, focused on re-imagining journalism with an emphasis on creating solutions. The docuseries will be available across all 15 global editions of the news site and will also be syndicated through the AOL On Network.

“Social media has revolutionized the way that we communicate globally and is a key part of the HuffPost DNA,” said Hamish Nicklin, MD of AOL U.K., in a statement. “#PowerShift will be a fascinating series, commissioned out of the U.K., and highlights AOL’s commitment in creating premium video content that delights consumers and enables brands to connect with audiences across a fragmented digital ecosystem.”
