BizWireTV will cover recent news items published on Business Wire’s networks, and will stream two shows per week on Business Wire’s website. It’s free to view.
The first weekly show, also dubbed BizWireTV, will focus on the start-up sphere, profiling new businesses and projects, young entrepreneurs and technological advances. It will be hosted by Erin Ade (pictured), host of the linear financial news show Boom Bust on RT America. BizWireTV will be posted on Mondays.
The second weekly show, The Accelerator Report, posted on Fridays, is oriented toward investors, revolving around company earnings announcements, IPOs, financing and valuations.
They will be produced out of Business Wire’s New York City headquarters.
The new platform is the result of a partnership between Business Wire and Al Roker Entertainment which was struck this past summer. Under the deal, BW will use its business insights, access to business news, data and analysis services, while Al Roker Entertainment (headed by famed weatherman Al Roker) will head up the production aspect of the shows. Roker’s company has experimented with digital media and online streaming, broadcasting content from its Roker Labs studio on both Periscope and Meerkat.
