FloSports launches cheerleading vertical

The cheer-focused channel is the OTT service's ninth hub for sport super-fans and will contain live streams, commentary and documentaries.

Can’t get enough of competitive cheerleading? Don’t worry. FloSports, the OTT service for sports-obsessed super-fans, has you covered.

FloCheer, the ninth dedicated sports vertical launched by FloSports, will provide live footage of American cheer championships, editorial commentary and documentary content revolving around the competitive sport.

To oversee the new channel, the company has hired Monica Bloodgood as GM. Bloodgood has worked professionally in cheerleading industry for 17 years, including as a manager and as a judge for high school and college championships. She’s also coordinated major cheer events, including the Pro Bowl halftime show in Hawaii.

According to FloSports, there are more than three million cheerleaders in the U.S.

The first event covered by FloCheer will be a live stream of Jam Fest in Louisville, Kentucky on Oct. 4. Seventy squads from across the state are scheduled to participate in the championship.

FloSports also offers niche channels focused on wrestling, grappling, softball and gymnastics. FloGrappling and FloMuscle were launched in August to deliver content to fans of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and bodybuilding.

Content is available in the U.S. on desktop and mobile browser apps. It costs $19.99 for most channels including FloCheer, or $149.99 for a year.
