Endemol Beyond USA, the MCN owned by Endemol Shine North America, has developed an OTT video platform in partnership with online video solutions company Piksel.
Getbeyond.us officially launched Sept. 9.
Much of Endemol’s content from its MCN is included on the service as “channels,” such as Michelle Phan’s Icon network. Content from the upcoming gaming and e-sports network Smasher (including the U.S. version of Legends of Gaming, pictured) will also become available as it rolls out. The service will also feature talent from Endemol Beyond USA talent including hip-hop artist Pitbull and comedian Andy Milonakis.
The service, which is currently available on desktop as well as Andoid and iOS devices, will come at no cost to users, who can sign up through their Facebook or Twitter accounts.
Endemol Beyond USA’s content can already be found across multiple platforms, including a number of YouTube channels, on connected TV devices and, most recently, Vessel, but interim president and COO of Endemol Beyond USA Adrian Sexton said in a statement that having its content in one place is ideal for the company’s development.
“Getbeyond.us streamlines our consumer experience with strong branding, promotion and distribution,” said Sexton.
Piksel, for its part, will provide Endemol with tech and distribution-related solutions, including analytics to better keep track of who videos are reaching.
Kevin Joyce, chief strategy officer at Piksel said in the statement the new service “accelerates (Endemol’s) premium content network strategy, consolidates their programming and allows them to reclaim their revenue streams.”
A rep for Endemol Beyond USA said there are no plans for Endemol to pull its content off of any other platforms.
Endemol Beyond USA was recently nominated for MCN of the Year for the Content Innovation Awards, which will take place Oct. 4.
