Global music and entertainment platform Vevo has named Jon Carvill as its new head of communications.
Carvill, whose previously held a senior communications role at mobile tech firm Qualcomm, will handle all of Vevo’s corporate comms and public relations. The job will see Carvill based in San Francisco and report directly to Vevo president and CEO Erik Huggers.
The appointment is effective immediately.
Prior to joining Qualcomm, Carvill was a director of corporate communications at Intel. He previously held an executive role at Globalfoundries, a billion-dollar tech start-up backed by AMD and Abu-Dhabi-based Mubadala Development Corporation.
On Twitter, Carvill describes himself in more colorful terms as a “nomadic technophile and reformed chip PR addict with a passion for music and digital media.”
