The first Starz-branded SVOD service outside the U.S. – Starz Play Arabia – is up and running.
Offering new and premium content for the Middle East and North Africa, Starz Play Arabia has also tapped Maaz Sheikh as president and COO.
Starz Play Arabia provides an initial offering of 3,000 movies and TV series for $13.99 monthly and is available to audiences in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia. To promote the channel, is is offering a 30-day free trial, available on PCs, Macs, iPhones, iPads and Android devices.
Original Starz series now available to the region include Black Sails (pictured), Power, Survivor’s Remorse, The White Queen, Magic City and Spartacus.
