Amazon announced on Wednesday that it has greenlit a second season of its first original hour-long drama series Bosch, starring Titus Welliver (Lost, The Good Wife).
The sereis is based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling Harry Bosch book series, which have sold 50 million copies over the last 23 years.
Premiering last month, season one of Bosch had the biggest debut weekend of any Amazon Original Series, and it has been the most-watched title on Prime Instant Video, across movies and TV series, in its first four weeks.
Other returning cast members include Jamie Hector (The Wire), Amy Aquino (Being Human), Lance Reddick (Fringe, The Wire) and Sarah Clarke (24).
In season two, LAPD detective Bosch will investigate the murder of a Hollywood producer who laundered money for the mob and pursue serial killer Chilton Hard.
It will be executive produced by Connelly, Eric Overmyer (The Wire, Treme), Henrik Bastin of Fabrik Entertainment (The Killing, Odyssey) and Pieter Jan Brugge (Heat, The Insider).
There have been 19 Harry Bosch novels published since 1992, including 2014’s number-one bestseller The Burning Room.
