Mattel is rolling out more Thomas & Friends for the pre-school set.

The company announced that it’s producing 52 x 3-minute episodes of the series based on children favorite Thomas The Tank Engine.

The Thomas & Friends 3-minute clips will premiere on the Thomas & Friends YouTube channel weekly all year long to commemorate the franchise’s 70th anniversary. The series kicks off in March.

The clips will feature the train in various themed scenarios, including videos styled in 2D comic strip style animations (Thomas Around The World); coming to life as a toy in a child’s playroom (Live Action Playroom Shots); a humorous mash-up of Island of Sodor characters, done with sports-style commentary (Thomas Comedy Showtime); songs from the original series set to CG animation (Classic Songs) and Mr. Perkins’ Story Time, where the Thomas & Friends driver returns to narrate classic tales from the Railway Series storybooks.

The content will also be available on the YouTube Kids app.
