Fandango is launching a channel on Hulu some time over the next three months, the movie-ticket seller announced Tuesday at CES.
The Hulu channel, which will be hosted at Hulu.com/fandango on both the free, ad-supported service as well as the subscription-based Hulu Plus, will be Fandango’s first SVOD partnership. But the original series streaming on the channel – Fandango FrontRunners, Weekend Ticket, Reel Kids and Mom’s Movie Minute – are also available for free on YouTube and Fandango.com. A communications rep for Fandango says this latest distribution model is “contextually relevant” to the Hulu audience as it gives viewers a way to discover new films.
Hosted by Dave Karger, FrontRunners is a special series running around the Golden Globes and will feature interviews with award-nominated celebs. Weekend Ticket, is a weekly movie recommendation series also hosted by Karger; Reel Kids, in which kids offer their opinions about the movies, and Mom’s Movie Minute, a parent-to-parent entertainment advice show, run around family movies with several episodes per month.
In the spring Fandango acquired MovieClips, a YouTube channel that host trailers and has 9 million subscribers.
