Time Inc. is partnering with Rampante, a next-gen content production and distribution company started this year by Emiliano Calemzuk.
Calemzuk is a former CEO of Shine Americas, a post he left in 2012, and he previously served as president of Fox International Channels – Europe. He is also credited with introducing an international co-production model during his stewardship of Fox Television Studios, where he spearheaded the development of Burn Notice, White Collar and The Killing.
At Time Inc., which this year has been ramping up its digital video efforts, Rampante will establish a stand-alone development and production division to create a multi-platform video library for the media company. Some of the content will complement the editorial that runs in the publisher’s print magazines. Rampante will also assist Time Inc. to develop distribution models, including SVOD and VOD, according to a release.
“We are expanding our video strategy to leverage the breadth of our portfolio in a cohesive, high-volume way. By partnering with Emiliano, we are gaining experience in television production and international channel distribution. Moreover, without taking on unnecessary overhead, we will have an immediate presence in Los Angeles,” said Time Inc. chairman and CEO, Joe Ripp, in a statement.
