Maker Studios has signed Daniel Middleton, the gamer and vlogger behind The Diamond Minecart YouTube and Twitch channels.
While the announcement of Middleton joining Maker’s gaming division and Polaris vertical was made on Tuesday, he actually began working with the MCN earlier this summer, even promoting back-to-school merch like his own lunchbox (pictured) that’s available through the Maker Shop.
Middleton, who reviews game modifications and streams regular series of his Minecraft gameplay, has 3.3 million subscribers and over a billion views.
“Having started only just two years ago, Middleton’s growth is hugely impressive,” said Chris M. Williams, chief audience officer, Maker Studios, in a statement. “He’s one of the most extraordinary storytellers creating short-form video today.”
Maker will manage his YouTube channel, help develop content and arrange collabs and sponsorship opportunities.
