Netflix announced on Thursday that it will be the exclusive home of all new episodes of the animated series DreamWorks Dragons, starting with its third season in spring 2015. It will be available to Netflix members in all territories, including France and Germany.
The first 2 seasons of DreamWorks Dragons aired on the Cartoon Network.
The series expands on DreamWorks Animation’s movie franchise How to Train Your Dragon, bridging the gap, story-wise, between the first film, released in 2010, and its sequel, How to Train Your Dragon 2, which hits theaters on June 13. There have also been a series of How to Train Your Dragon short films released on DVD and blu ray.
Voice talents Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and T.J. Miller will reprise their film roles in the series.
The streaming service seems to be bolstering its kids programming – on Tuesday it was revealed the company will have the first pay-TV window to Sony Pictures Animation content in the U.S.
