One of the most anticipated Xbox original series finally has an expected release date.

The live-action Halo television series, executive produced by Steven Spielberg, is scheduled to debut in the fall of 2015. Spielberg announced the project last spring.

Created in partnership with 343 Industries and Amblin Television, the show is an opportunity for Microsoft to reach new audiences with the franchise. A new installment of the video game, Halo 5: Guardians, will be released around the same time as the show, according to a blog post by Bonnie Ross, general manager, 343 Industries.

The TV series “will stand alone, as well as complement and enrich the game experience,” writes Ross. Earlier this month Variety reported that XES is in talks with Showtime about the series, which could give the TV network windowing priority. But the interactive elements that are worked into every original series from XES would be developed for the console streaming.

Video game developer 343 Industries is also launching a digital Halo feature for Xbox with Scott Free Productions that’s to be released later this year. That project will be executive produced by Ridley Scott.
