FremantleMedia UK head of interactive Peter Cassidy (pictured) is departing to take a position at Israel-based cross-screen tech company Applicaster.
Cassidy will take the post of vice president for Europe in April and will be tasked with bringing the company’s technology platform and social and second screen tools to more broadcasters in the region.
At FremantleMedia UK, Cassidy was responsible for the digital extensions for assorted Fremantle formats including The X Factor (UK) and Britain’s Got Talent. Prior to his time with Fremantle, he served as head of telephone interactivity at RTL Netherlands.
“Peter is one of the few executives in the industry with the unique blend of expertise in content production, creative, and digital, and has led cross-disciplinary projects for leading global TV brands, such as FremantleMedia and RTL,” said Applicaster CEO Jonathan Laor in a statement.
“We are excited to have him on board and harness his leadership and experience in TV, and interactive digital media to lead Applicaster’s expansion in Europe and to support our current customers worldwide in their new media journey.”
