Streaming video service Hulu will have rolled out 20 exclusive and original series launches by the end of this year, and acting CEO Andy Forssell says he expects that number to double over the next two years.

Hulu made its presence felt at the Television Critics Association press tour yesterday with a presentation from Forssell in which he showcased some of the upcoming series, including Behind the Mask, a docuseries created by filmmaker Josh Greenbaum and produced by Occupant Entertainment, which delves into the world of sports mascots and premieres October 29.

But in both the presentation and a Hulu blog posting, he also cast his eye towards the near future of the service.

“You can expect to see our number of first-run titles double in the next couple of years as we find more and more great shows to engage and excite viewers,” he wrote. Those first-run titles are a combination of copros with such partners as the BBC (such as the scripted series The Wrong Mans, debuting on November 11) and acquisitions billed as exclusives, such as the comedy Moone Boy, which will be premiering its second season on Hulu.

The service is also debuting its first animated original, The Awesomes, today.
